What about a more immersive CV?

While updating my CV, I contemplated creating a more visually appealing version that incorporated additional details. As a result, I launched Tableau Public and experimented with various designs until I crafted the following compelling visualization:

Here are the Sections:

  • About Me - a Summary/ profile of my career thus far. Including my name and Photo. This is all static currently.

  • Social Media - These are not strictly social media links but I've grouped them together for this purpose. you can see my Gmail address, Linkedin, Twitter, Tableau Public, Instagram and my living location (approx). I did think it would be cool to bring up my latest tweets, posts, etc, but for now, it's the links.

  • Working Locations - here are the locations I have worked, for me, this isn't the most reverting, but I know some of you are globe trotters and this could look a lot cooler.

  • Career Time Line - My jobs and the company are mapped on a timeline. (if you hadn't guessed) when you hover over them it drills down and gives further detail into each role, I thought would be cool if you could show some stats, like time in role etc, I may come back to this and improve.

  • Certifications & Interests - These are just custom shapes plotted on a table, when hovering over them you are presented with more insight into each one.

  • Skills - A matrix to show skill levels on some of the most used tools and programs I have.

Although I have published this and updated it recently I still think there is more I could do with it. I would like to think this shows another string to my bow, another feather to my arrow, but really I just tried to do something new and see what I could achieve.

Would love to hear what you think so let me know!
